Jerzmanowice – Przeginia community is located in the Little Poland provence (Małopolska), in the Krakow district. The community includes eight villages: Przeginia, Czubrowice, Racławice, Gotkowice, Łazy, Szklary, Sąspów. The authorities are located in Jerzmanowice. Jerzmanowice -Przeginia community has a border with: Skała community in the east, Sułoszowa community in the north, Olkusz community in the west and Krzeszowice community and Wielka Wieś community in the south. It stretches along the national road no. 94. The area where community Jerzmanowice – Przeginia is located is commonly called Krakow-Czestochowa Upland. This name is associated with the occurrence of a large part of the Jurassic limestone of the area. The highest place with more than 500 meters above sea level is the hill Grodzisko in Jerzmanowice.
Jerzmanowice
The village is situated in the attractive place – in the neighbourhood of the Ojcow National Park. There is the second largest hill in the Krakow-Czestochowa Upland- the hill called Grodzisko and numerous rocks. The most attractive is the Bat’s Cave, available for tourists. The camp of former hunters and cave bear remains were discovered there.
Przeginia
The village is the one of the oldest settlement in the area. The name of this settlement appeared in documents as Preginia in 1225. The name of the village comes from noun „pregybni” which means mountainous terrain.
Gotkowice
The village origins date back to 14th century. The name Gotkowice comes from a knight called Godek (Godzimir, Godzisław). In 1999-2006 Saint Peter and Paul church was built there.
Czubrowice
The village is located about 30 km north west from Cracow and 10 km in the east of Olkusz, in the Czubrówka Valley. Jurassic rocks rise around the village. Almost the entire area is in the Cracow Valleys Landscape Park. There are few huts from the late 19th century and from the first half of the 20th century in Czubrowice.
Racławice
The village is located by the river Czubrówka. There is the Racławicka Cave, the gothic church, the Racławka Valley and natural monuments – the old linden trees.
Sąspów
The village is located in the upper part of Sąspów Valley. The river Sąspówka flows through Sąspów. The church is located on the limestone rock above two caves Eastern and Western. Animals’ bones of the last period of Ice Age were discovered in rocks there.
Łazy
Łazy is the village formed in the 15th century. The country is located between the Będkowska and the Szklarska Valleys. The entire area of the village is the part of the Cracow Valleys Lanscape Park. In Łazy there is a football stadium. There is also a youth hostel, available for tourists.
Szklary
The village is about 3,5 km long. The highest peak is called Brodło. The village is located in the middle part of the Szklarka Valley. The Szklarka stream flows along the bottom of the valley. Terrains were connected to the Cracow Valleys Landscape Park.
